Memorial Tree

On May 12, 2020, our close family friend Jim Broderick came to our home and planted a redbud tree in remembrance of George. May 12th is also George’s birthday, making it less than a week since his death. This tree means a lot to our family, and we hope that in the near future friends and family will be able to visit the tree. In a symbolic metaphor, this tree also traveled from the South to our backyard in Massachusetts. Just like my dad, who’s roots were in the South, but who settled our family in Amherst. The tree is also located next to George’s father’s tree. We will continually post photos of the tree as it grows.
